As General Dynamics UK continues to develop within an ever-evolving technical domain, it is clear that innovation is one of the key ingredients to our customers' continued success.

To do this, we need a physical and virtual environment that will enable us to work closely, and collaborate, with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), academia and customers, along with our existing and extensive supply network; to be able to assess and evaluate new technologies and bring them to market quickly.

The Defence Innovation Strategy focuses on creating a 'new environment for innovation within the defence supply chain'. It also states that within defence, innovation is essentially "the successful generation and exploitation of new or, where appropriate, novel applications of existing technology".

General Dynamics' leadership in the C4ISTAR land domain means that we are naturally placed to lead the development of a new facility to harness the necessary future collaboration, and deliver the next evolutionary step-change in mission-winning capabilities, and solutions, that our customers demand.

This facility will be known as EDGE™ UK
